Graduation Speech High School - 852 Words

According to a report from Thomas Nelson Community College website, 15.7 percent is the graduation rate in 2010. 84 percent of students failed to receive their degree. That’s beyond sad. College can be difficulty especially with everyday life is getting harder to main family life work and financials. Because college is challenging, I know that I have issues that I must overcome. I told myself the more patient s I have the better success I will have. Although college will be difficult my goal is to gain the knowledge. I need to improve through my life challenges so that I won t end up a statistic. I m in this class for three reasons, to learn, read and write on college level, I had several of blocks in my way. After I graduated from high school, I became a mother at early age to my oldest son. I started working part-time job. By time I started going to college, I didn’t retain what was taught back in high school. I learned over the years. I take the placement test for reading and writing I didn t do as well. So my first reason I need this class is because my major is in Nursing. I need to be able to read, write and speak proper English. So I can test into English 111. I read and gain advice from Three Authors, writes about how the hardships each person endure. Giving up was not an option for them. The articles gave Me the will power I needed.
